Cerita ini adalah cerita nyata yang diceritakan oleh Naib Amirul Haj 1431 H KH Hasyim Muzadi. Menurut Kiai Hasyim -sapaan akrab KH Hasyim Muzadi, percakapan berikut ini adalah kisah nyata antara dirinya dengan salah seorang pembantu di Pesantrennya al-Hikam Malang Jawa Timur.
"Pada waktu itu sebelum berhaji bersama keluarga dan beberapa orang yang membantu khidmah (bekerja) di Pesantren al-Hikam, saya menerangkan tentang tata cara haji kepada rombongan," tutur Kiai Hasyim memulai ceritanya, Kamis (18/11).
"Di antara pilihan tata cara haji itu ada yang dinamai haji Tamattu', yaitu melakukan umroh terlebih dahulu, baru kemudian berhaji. Ada haji Ifrod, yaitu melakukan haji dahulu baru kemudian Umroh. Dan terakhir adalah haji Qiron, yaitu melakukan haji dan umroh sekaligus," terang Kiai Hasyim.
"Kita boleh memilih manakah di antara nama haji-haji itu yang akan kita pakai. Apakah haji tamattu', Ifrod ataukah Qiron," pungkas Kiai Hasyim.
Seusai bercerita, Kiai Hasyim bertanya kepada salah seorang pembantunya yang bernama Sholeh. "Jadi nanti kamu mau haji apa leh? Mau haji tamattu' atau haji ifrod?"
Dengan lugunya, Sholeh menjawab, "Tidak Pak Kiai, saya mau tetap saja seperti biasa, tidak usah ganti nama. Saya mau jadi Haji Sholeh saja."

After the talk, Kiai Hasyim asked one aide called Sholeh. "Sowhat would you want Hajj Leh? Want tamattu Hajj 'or pilgrimageifrod?"
